Who Says?

Who Says?

A Chapter by DIVYA

Who Says?

Who says the rolling tide spares none?
They've never visited my shores.
No wind, no wave, no whispering sands
Only silence, stretched like a shroud,
Stirred solely by your dreams.

Who says time tempers all?
They've never seen my sea
Pitch waters that forever seethe,
Beneath the weight of your shadow,
Yet denied your faintest touch.

Who speaks of ebb and fade?
Do they know my relentless nights?
Wailing banshees, ever cursing the dark
And you, my unblemished moon
Glowing upon all else, never me.

Time tempers all.. Yea, I wish, if only it were so simple, one could cast their worries to the wind and just reassure themselves about a tomorrow that does not exist and they may not see.
As per the last line... That's possibly the best and only way to "end" this piece.

Because it's honest and perfectly portrays the occasional detachment and "blind" admiration us creatives have for someone to whom we later dedicate a few creations. It can even seem as though the creation process is more important than the subject of the creation... Very relatable.

As per the restlessness.. Embrace it, all that really means is that you're alive.
Cheers

Yeah, that's pretty much the only reason I'm writing at all. To get things out and move on. Cheers.

I have missed your poetry DIVYA and this brilliant piece confirms why. Those final two lines say it all. I felt the cold.

That was the intended effect. I treasure your comment. Thank you very much, dear Chris.
This is a haunting piece of writing...sends a chill down the poetic spine.
