I thought I was going to emerge as a butterfly.
But instead I became a moth.
A dusty, crusty, musty creature that only comes out when it’s dark.
The moth thrives in darkness; the moment the sun goes down it appears dancing in the moon light with its stocky, ghastly, unappealing, unlovely, dirt colored wings looking for a mate to seduce; hey! They can’t tell that you are ugly in the dark! :D
Butterflies are bold and beautiful; colorful colors, orange, pink, and white; and patterns that dazzle eyes like diamond princess slippers.
They dance majestically in the morning sun and kiss the most handsome of flowers.
Everyone smiles when they see a butterfly flutter; their thin frame and flamboyant, gorgeous, wings do all the talking.
I thought I was a butterfly, but I became a moth; when you are in a cocoon you just don’t know what you are going to turn out to be. Heck! It’s dark in there. You are blind. You are confused. You got NO IDEA what the heck is going on. Your mind is blank. You can’t think. All you gotta do is pray to the Almighty that you are going to come out okay. It’s an awkward stage in life; this cocoon.
I fold myself out from the cocoon and take a deep breathe of cool air. I am with the heart of a butterfly but the mind of a moth.
I am a moth.
Forced to only emerge in the darkness and dance for the moon.
One things about Moths though:
They are attracted to the light.
