Wind FallA Poem by Deron AlexisWind fall
It’s the time of the last songs And she is so shy Hiding behind the winter Litter falling from the sky
When trees in laughter stretched with ambition to reach the sunset glory and gave us as a gift blessings and falling leaves
still your raging heart from residual summer and listen just a while there’s a troupe of winds and laughter dancing in her scarlet hair cautious illusive rare singing playful songs they whisper in your ear they shake off the leaves endowed with sunset, love’s colour as if the trees gave a warm hug in this cold hour
Look where the wise owl stands Her feathers with the trees seem to add to the Autumn the wisdom of falling leaves affords the owl her stay when all the birds flew away a quiet place to think is what she has and when spring awakens she seems wiser still
kneeling in the litter the smell of fresh ground gets between your fingers now that they’ve shed their leaves the trees don’t have to whither hither and tither the winds are still about just close your eyes and be careful not to shout can you hear the music somewhere in the distance a woodland flute sings low maybe somewhere out in neverland dryads sing and chant to satyrs and their music and maybe that’s why the autumn wind must dance
