A Poem by Deron Alexis

The Tube

Tide-born, this is what it means

To be one with your board

One with the sea

One with your heart

One with all that is

And ever will be

Tide bound,

You breathe in the salt

Pass your hands through

And in a silent prayer

Wish want and hope that

this goes on forever

with all that is yours

and mine and everyone’s

and the sea gave you wings

to fly away from here

to save you from your demons

and after the height of

a cosmic heartbeat

shouting a base for your body

and nature to flow

another swell dies

from this world

and into yesteryear

I really enjoyed this. I love the ocean, there is such a connection, a meditative feel to its constant beat, ever lapping waves, whether afloat upon it or just gazing at it... and you can lose yourself in it, so that everything else seems so small and insignificant. Yes, I love the ocean, and this poem as well....

XD
i really like the analogy of life to riding that certain wave.

the dangers, the thrills, the ups and downs, trying to stay balanced...as we do try to in life.

not only liked the poem but found myself humming "pipeline" by the chantays while i was reading it.

thanx we've changed allot since then you should come this month for the carnival
Love the freedom and the motion that you've captured in this one Deron, could be a metaphor for life. The last thought left me thinking, waves, just as our days and memories fade into yesterdays waiting for the next crush to come us over. Really enjoyed this, I love the sea, give me a read about it and I'm hooked.

'another swell dies
from this world
and into yesteryear'

Nice one!
