Death Looks Like My GirlfriendA Poem by Deron Alexis
Death Looks Like
My Girlfriend Why do we fear death? she is kind, merciful she smiles, she giggles even as she smells like burning roses she takes the pain away. And when she comes, brings the moonbeam to a hero in waiting like warriors know like the fallen have seen her have also seen that fine line between cowards and heroes chosen guardians, and self-exulted banes the infectious and their poison and the faceless and their pessimism who are they that deny the slavery of this life a chain and binding for every breath we take a debt for a moment in glee Is she our only way out Can we just live without the porcelain wax and polymer outside the reach of synthetic smiles © 2012 Deron AlexisReviews
