The Ferris WheelA Poem by Deron AlexisThe
Ferris Wheel I could turn forever, Powered by you. You carry it all, The weight on your shoulders. Let me be your Atlas . I’ll lift the sky from your arms. I’ll cure your scars, If you let me. Get on board, I’ll spin you calmly.
I can be your Ferris wheel, Spin you in my stride. The answers don’t matter, At the top of the world, Absorbed in you and I.
I can be the rest you crave, The drug to ease the hurt, Don’t mind if you overdose darling You know you deserve this darling.
I’m the Ferris wheel. The stride is your own. The seat is reserved, And well deserved you know.
Just let go of the weight. Let go of the fear. I’ll shoulder your burden, the
pain and the tears.
Let me be your Ferris wheel. I can take you away from here. Born of the sky we were meant to be. Your chains and anchors mean nothing to me.
Give me the agony! I’m asking of you! I’m begging to feel your pain! Don’t care if its unbearable my love! You make me the impossible my love!
Liberated like our freedom of verse, We’ll stride and windsurf, To the ends of the earth. © 2012 Deron AlexisReviews
