Underneath The Summer Tree

Underneath The Summer Tree

A Poem by T.S. Sky
"

A poem of man dying from Aids in Africa.

"

Man looks like a boy

In a little small room

Family cascades around him

Like leaves

Fall…

…Ing

From a Summer Tree

His disease has eaten away at his health

He looks hungry

But is well fed

Then one day during the day

Night fell a silent hush

Over a sadden house

The man in black

Has come for him

He takes him

To the summer tree

With it’s green leaves

Casting a cool shade over him

The little ones gather around him

And sing a lullaby

That sends him to bliss

His family wails a song of death

His family dance a dance of longing

His once vibrate face

Is now dry and broken

He looks like he’s sleeping

But he won’t wake up

The disease stole his life away

And with it the Aids

Stole everything

That made his family happy

His smile

Is no longer in the physical

But it’s there

In the colors of the sun rise

It’s there under the Summer Tree

Waiting…

Beautiful write full powerful imagery. I like that you write with real depth and emotion. Some powerfully gripping lines in this piece too many to choose from. Starz
