Eyes of BlueA Poem by TheresaIt's as if I can still see your eyes Loving and kind with a crystal blue hue How they would sparkle like stars in the nights sky Sometimes I swear I can still see your smile too Contagious and grand full of delight A quick tug on your lips could light up a room Then that dreadful day came and there was no more light Your eyes, your smile placed underground and marked with a tomb I wept for you for days and days Even now one year later tears still fill my eyes A feeling of emptiness conveys My breath becomes short and outcomes unspeakable cries Then through blurry eyes I spot your picture on the wall I wipe away the tears and gain my composure It's as if I hear your voice call I follow in hopes of closure Closure I do not find and know I probably never will But a tug at my lip and a smile begins to rise The pain fades and my heart begins to fill And it's as if I can still see your eyes
