Time Moves OnA Poem by Theory88I wrote this poem to try and capture the feelings of depression and what a waste of time it can be! This is also the first poem i wrote in years! As Father time’s arms move wide, Hearts beat slowly, no matter how nimble, Whether in love, coerced, or merry, One heart sits, forlorn since adolescence Although it beats and flows like any other, A lonely tone, lingers in distress. Does it sing? Does it cry? Or is it waiting for time to fulfill its purpose? It waits, calmly, irritated, guilty For the sand to empty up above, To fill its void deep below, For time to end, for life to leave; Another to take its place. One that knows nothing, strives for wisdom, But to no avail, As life leaves this little heart, Father time’s clocks move uninterrupted. © 2016 Theory88Author's Note
