Poverty

Poverty

A Poem by Theodore Tessensohn
"

Poverty may be something hard to live with, a little bit too hard that words in a poem may be the closest one can get to obtaining a glimpse of how hard it may be like.

"

I

The children famished and cold,

They could not afford anything,

But still walking proud and bold,

Along the alley happily singing.

II

Facing many obstacles along the way,

But they never seem to go astray,

Poor they are but respect I say,

Living their lives that God has lay.

III

Accepting life without objection,

Knowing that it was fate,

Never showing a sign of dejection,

This is life accept it mate.

IV

Their whole life shadowed by poverty,

But still living on merrily,

Happily just accepting reality,

Life is short, spend it happily.

I loved how positive you made this poem; it ends very happily and I think it's great that you captured how poverty doesn't define those that are currently poor. They have so much more. Really amazing and inspiring!
