Song of Shadows

Song of Shadows

A Poem by Ceos

I struggle, I fight
Just to survive
This tedious reality
That many find, easy

What right do they have
That I was born without
To love without care
While I am alone

Their fortune such a contrast
To my own poverty
As much of the soul as the body
As I sit in the shadowy gloom

Love mocks me
Success ignores me
While hatred becomes my ally
And jealousy calls me a friend

When will they see
What they have torn from me
Have they no clue
Of what they do?

They have beaten me
They have tried to break me
I can no longer face submition
I must fight, I must defy

A demon hovers over me
A demon I have become
For heaven hath forsaken me
To leave me within the prison of my pain.

Author's Note

Ceos
This is a poem of insight, not of entertainment. I have seen what becomes of rejects, and feel some empathy to their station. I hope this provides a view through their eyes.

About
I'm just someone with an unchecked imagination. I see something in the everyday, or I imagine something and put it into words. I try to bring my vision to people so they may see what I see. more..
