Blue Bird

Blue Bird

A Poem by Ceos

Sun shone down in shimmering rays

A cool breeze flowed through the park

Making the tree branches gently sway

On a late September day

I had only stopped for a brief while

To rest on a faded purple bench

When I looked up in a tree and had to smile

At a bird with saphire feathers perched on a branch

Its ceurelean wings were folded at its side

Its chest was blazed white

With a small rounded head

Dotted with black beady eyes

He sang proud and brave

To all the creatures below

With the melodic voice God gave

For everything to hear

He leaped from branch to branch

Till he was standing on the peak

Tottering as if he would fall

He jumped

Diving through the air

I gasped

Thinking the little bird was to meet his end

But his wings, burned blue and white

Snapped out to halt his fall

And he flew in loops and circles

Gracefully through the sky

I watched until he flew beyond my sight

High up into the sky

I searched for a time

But marched on with my day

I though as a I lay down my head

That I had seen God's hand

We all fell from time to time

But with him, we could fly.

the final stanza is excellent, a fitting end to a lovely story
