Shifting SandmansA Poem by ThoughtsIBought
Thought spiral sunrise
Sometime past 5am Some combination of conditions From my alphabet soup psych chart Has left me here Awake but past the break of thought Anxiety vinyls slide off the record player Leaving me spinning On a world that’s not stopping Where do you go after you've already gone over Every moment Checking for flaws real or imagined Fighting yourself till the arguments run out of words Turtles and train cars all the way down Nothing’s wrong But each new thought splinters out Like an ever expanding crack in the glass and low visibility makes everything feel like a storm Just want remove all the noise noise noise Disconnect from the wire Remove the spoon fed news feed The noose of notification strangling my attention Engagement is an act not a program in the background Quiet conversation It’s quiet and I find myself waking up © 2020 ThoughtsIBoughtReviews
