Just For You

Just For You

A Poem by ThoughtsIBought
"

A love poem about two conflicting concepts.

"
You’re a tall glass of reality
Said Hyperbole to Epiphany
and you sit with me singing sweet truths
in foreign tongues.
It’s just begun
and time is short
but I intend for my intense introspection
To see past pretense and outlast pretending.
I’ve loved ideas in the past but you’re different.
You’re honest.
Complicated… but honest.
and while we’re being honest
I know I’m a lot
and I know you take time.
But your truth is something I’m willing to find.
And my truth is you make me something that’s real.
Can’t deny what we have has a certain appeal.
But I know that we cannot be more than a moment.
Just two thoughts that crossed paths
One lost in its massive excess.
The other too beautiful to last forever.
It was nice while it lasted though
despite all my big talk leaving nothing to show.
But I’ve finished my glass and I guess I should go.
