EmmaA Story by ThelovelybonesAs he
watches her frail, pale body walk away, he is enraged, every emotion veiled with a burning hurt. Watching such a beautiful creature destroying itself, turning from any good that comes her way. All he wanted was to show her that she was worth it, she was worth all his love and more. That he saw the light in her, in such a beautiful, sad heart. she exsited in such a fragile world of darkness, but she herself was the light to others, if only she could see herself the way they saw her. She was a diamond rotting in a fiery pit, lighting the sparkling flames, making them burn brighter. the diamond even more beautiful as it is destroyed, creating the most magnificently haunting sight. He calls out to her one more
time, “Why do you do this to yourself?!, why don’t you care that you are
hurting me!” Through her blurry vision and burning veins she says to him “there’s
no escape for people like me, people who are attacked and broken by thoughts
they cannot rid. You don't think I hate myself even more for hurting you? It’s a battle that can never be won. Who can save me when I’m
drowning in myself? There is no escape to that”. She turned and walked down the
cold, moonlit street, the reflection of the store lights creating a haunting
glow as he watched her silhouette disappear into the night. His heart had never
felt so much emotion, pain pouring in through every vessel. He knew there was
no saving her, yet every night when she would reappear and haunt him, he
couldn’t ignore the urge to go find her. For the nights were long, revisiting
her bruised face and hallow words. But there was hope even in his darkest of
times, for each night he would wake in a little less agony than the night
before. Maybe one day in the far future he would let himself love again, but never
will it be as potent and haunting as his love for dear Emma. © 2016 Thelovelybones |
