Chapter 1: A Normal Day AlteredA Chapter by Princess BlondieSierra.
Sierra is an average girl. Sierra is a normal fifteen year old girl. She goes to a
normal school. Her friends are mostly average and normal friends. Her life is normal.
At least it was. Once on a typical Saturday morning,
Sierra was hanging out with her best friend, Tina.
Tina went to the same high school as Sierra. They were best friends. They met
at the
beginning of middle school in the sixth grade when one of Tina’s best friends
moved away
to Denver, Colorado. Colorado was very far from Louisiana, where Tina and
Sierra lived. Tina was a good friend to Sierra and
they connected very well; however, sometimes
Tina got hyper because she was obsessed with cookies. There was not one type
of cookie that she had not eaten so far in her life. If you were Tina’s friend
and ya’ll saw
a cookie on the floor, she would definitely eat it. Tina did not like to be
wasteful. Sierra
was the same way, although she did not eat cookies off of the floor. Anyway, Tina always ate cookies many
times each day. If she ate too many, she would
jump as much as a bunny and talk as fast as people did on advertisements on commercials
when they spoke very fast about extra costs and shipping and handling prices.
Tina was a playful friend. Even when she did get hyper, she and Sierra had fun hanging
out together. Sierra was not the hyper type. She was
the sweet and laid back type. She took responsibility
seriously. On that Saturday morning, Sierra and Tina were
hanging out in Sierra’s front yard.
They had just gotten back from Waffle House. Tina spent the night a lot and Sierra
brought her to Waffle House with her in the mornings sometimes. They were
jump-roping in the warm sun on that Saturday morning, Sierra jump-roped while
Tina ate a small chocolate chip cookie. “Hey, hey, hey, this cookie is yummy.”
Tina said to Sierra with an excited look on her
face. “Now I want a cookie!” Sierra exclaimed as she put the jump-rope down and
walked
towards Tina. “Sierra, you should go buy some cookies. I like cookies.” “I know
you
do. You are almost always eating them!” “Only because they are delicious!
D-E-L-I- C-I-O-U-S!”
“I know how to spell delicious, Tina. I learned in like the third grade.” “Oh.
I knew
that. It was a joke. See? Hahahaha!” Sierra began to laugh with Tina. Tina stopped laughing and started
looking down both sides of the street. Sierra was
confused. “Tina, why are you looking up and down the street? There’s no reason
to cross
the street. You can see the weird workers working across the street from here already
anyway.” “I know that! I heard a car.” “Wow. Cars are so rare.” Tina chuckled. “Ha,
very funny, Sierra. The thing is that I see a limo and there are like rarely
any limos that
come down your street.” Sierra ran to the edge of her driveway next to Tina. “A
limo?
Is it heading this way?” “Actually, it looks like it is.” Sierra and Tina began
to stare at
the limo down the street. They watched Mr. Dave also watch the limo. Mr. Dave
was the
elderly man that lived next store to Sierra. He was a very kind man and good
friends with
her family. He treated her like a granddaughter. “I see you girls see that limo
too? It’s
a pretty sight isn’t it? In my day, they did not have limos. They had old,
small cars.” The
only problem with Mr. Dave was that he always talked about when he was a young boy.
“Oh, that’s very interesting, Mr. Dave.” Sierra said as if she was interested.
“Yes. History
is interesting, especially from my days. Did you know that my uncle fought in World
War 2? He had a severe leg injury. He had surgery done to his leg and he is
fine now,
but he’s in his 90’s.” “Umm, did I need to know that?” Tina asked as she
munched another
cookie. Sierra whispered, “Tina, be nice to him. He’s in his 70’s. Let him
discuss his
childhood. It won’t hurt to listen.” Tina nodded as the limo got closer as it
cruised down
the street. “OH MY GOSH IT IS GETTING CLOSER!”
Tina yelled as she jumped up and down.
“Wow! I wonder who is in there!” Sierra replied as they jumped up and down, making
Mr. Dave head back to his driveway because the noise annoyed him. Tina and Sierra waited as the limo
approached her home. Mr. Dave got tired of waiting
and having the sun shine in his eyes. He eventually slowly walked inside and made
himself a glass of lemonade. “Gee, that limo is slow.” Sierra said
as she and Tina eventually stopped jumping up
and down. “It’s almost here though!” Tina replied. Sierra took out her cell phone and began to text
some people. Tina’s cell phone beeped.
She had received a text from Sierra. It read: Hello. Wassup? Tina replied: I
want a cookie. Sierra laughed and replied, “Funny. I knew that though.” Tina
smiled and they flashed back to reality and their current interest, which was
the limo. At last, the limo was to Sierra’s house. Something
surprised them and made each
of them freeze. The limo stopped at Sierra’s house. Tina
asked, “Sierra, do you have any relatives that own a limo?” “No, I don’t think I
do.” “Good to know.” “Well, yeah, but then who is that!” “How would I know? This
is your neighborhood, remember?” “Yes, but you are like always over here.”
“Hmm, good
point.” Sierra began to grow nervous. Tina was feeling
nauseous. They watched as a man
in a clean, black suit stepped out of the limo with sunglasses on. He had very
shiny shoes
and he was tall. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He was a decently thin man. He
did not have a mischievous look as if he was a kidnapper. He seemed like an average
guy, although he wasn’t. The man stepped forward and stood right in front of
the two girls. He said, “Hello. Which
one of you is Sierra Graster?” Sierra was speechless. She raised her hand and nodded.
“Hello, Sierra. You and your friend, who looks extremely freaked out by the way,
are probably stunned to see a man in a black suit stop in a limo at your
house.” “YES,
we are.” Tina blurted out as she backed up a little. “Well, I have a very good reason
for doing so, but it might shock Sierra.” “She’s kind of shocked already, so go
ahead
and speak.” “Okay. Sierra, are you aware of your aunts hobby?” The man asked Sierra.
Sierra replied in a soft tone, “Umm, no. I don’t recall her ever telling me
what she did
to make money or live or whatever. Do you know?” “Yes. She works with our agency.”
“Her aunt does? What type of agency?” Tina asked curiously. The man replied,
“A secret spy agency. We have a mission that her aunt cannot complete currently
because she is in enrichment training, which can take up to two months. She cannot
quit in the middle of the training. Her Aunt Tia was asked to recommend a amateur
agent to take over the mission with the help of some intermediate agents. She chose
Sierra. Now, Sierra, I know you know nothing about spy training or missions or anything,
but our agency will help you. If you accept the mission, you, along with your friend
here, will travel with me to California. There, you will visit one of our
agencies and go
through a two day quick training of the basics of spies. Then, you shall be on
your way
to your mission.” “What type of mission?” Sierra asked. “Rachel is trying to
cause a major
earthquake in California. If she succeeds, then it will cause much trouble in California.
She has an evil planning layer somewhere in California, which we need to locate.
When we do, we will send you two and other agents there to defeat Rachel and her
assistant, Taylor. Do you two accept?” “I don’t know. How long is this going to
take?”
“Oh, Sierra, that depends on how well you can handle the mission. It can be
from a
week to a month or longer. It depends on you and your helpers. Your mother knows
about
your aunt and she knows that I was coming to get you today.” “Sierra, that explains
why your mom was hugging and kissing you before she went to the gym earlier.”
“Your right, Tina.” Sierra replied, putting the puzzle pieces of that day
together. “Oh,
also, my name is Brice. Agent Brice. And you girls will not need any food,
clothing, or
other necessities. We will provide everything for you. Will you do it?” Sierra
and Tina both
nodded. Sierra ran inside quickly and wrote a note telling
her mom where she was going. Tina
left a note for Sierra’s mom to call her mom. Agent Brice opened the limo door
for both
the girls. The limo was huge. Inside were computers,
televisions, and even a hot tub in the back.
There was a fridge and shelves with snacks and meals. There were blankets for naps
and cup holders for drinks. The limo had so much. Sierra and Tina had never
seen the
inside of a limo before and had definitely never seen a car with so much inside
of it. The
limo had turbo speed to get them to California faster than a normal car or limo
could.
Sierra and Tina began to text many of their friends
from their school and different schools
about where they were going. Some did not believe them. Others laughed. Some
even said Sierra and Tina were lucky. Some wished them luck. Many wanted to be
there with them in the awesome limo. A few even asked for souvenirs. Tina
wanted to
get everyone souvenirs, although Sierra decided to only get her close friends
gifts. Tina went to the videoing application on her iPhone
4 and began to make a video.
She spoke loudly to the camera lens, “Hello, everyone! I am in a limo! I am a secret
agent now. Du de du de du la la lo le lu la…” Sierra water quietly while Tina
sang and
yelled into the camera. Sierra thought it was complete nonsense. Tina loved it.
Eventually,
Tina finished her odd song and began talking to her phone about the limo and
our journey to California. This went on for two full hours. Sierra began to get
a headache
after fifteen minutes of listening to the nonsense. She never thought that a ninth
grade fifteen year old girl could gossip to a camera for so long. The phone
would not
have videoed that long, but the car had phone chargers all over the place! Tina
was happy
about this. Sierra, on the other hand, was unsure. Tina finally took a nap after watching her video
for an additional two hours. Sierra was
grateful that it was finally over and she fell asleep too. Sierra was awoken by her cell phone vibrating from
a text message. It was her friend,
Drew. Sierra and Drew had been best friends since the fifth grade. They dated
in the
eighth grade; however, it didn’t go too well. They mutually decided to just be
best friends,
and that’s how it had been ever since. Tina could tell that they still had
feelings for
each other, but both Drew and Sierra tried to hide it, although they were never
successful.
Tina always told them that they should try dating again. One of the reasons it
didn’t work out was because the transition from best friends to dating felt
really odd and
awkward. Tina thought it they tried dating again, they would be used to how it
felt to date and that it would go better the second whirl around. Drew
and Sierra had been considering it since the beginning of the ninth grade, but
neither of them had made a move. Yet. Tina hoped they would soon. Drew had went
on
vacation a few days before Sierra had left for her mission. He never mentioned exactly
where he was going. Anyway, Drew was replying to Sierra’s text about
being on a secret spy mission. Drew
had replied, “Omg! Thts awesome! I wish I couldve came wit u. U prob dont enjoy
Tina singing 2 her camera.” Sierra replied, “Wow. U must no Tina’s personality well
cause she was doing tat! It was so annoyin!” He replied, “Well shes pretty easy
2 figure
out. “ Sierra replied, “Haha yea. Same thing wit her cookie habit. The whole school
nos about tht! Well I gtg ive got 2 take a nap from Tina’s annoyance haha! I
