Lord of Mind

Many things I wish as the God of War

But fracturing your faith is my Final Fantasy

Torturing your spirit to test your Soul’s Calibur

I deal your death like Yugio's dragonish cards

I am locked in a Mortal Kombat within your mind

In  a reality akin to an Unreal Tournament design

I take up residence in your brain's domain

Bringing along some irreverent people

Legions of demons crawl across your thought terrain...Resident Evil

Doom looms as I withdraw hereditary heirlooms

From haughty hobgoblins with hellacious harpoons

To the ill-intent of vile villains of dark cartoons

Massacre is my call of duty

I have reduced to a Half Life… my mercy

Which pales before my beastly Killer Instinct

The Devil May Cry as my maniacal laugh echoes

Across the fringes of your dying consciousness

Oh, this is a clever piece Rocans! As I read at first I was thinking "I have heard these phrases before..." When I realized the game titles, I had to start all over to appreciate the skill you show here. :)

This was so cool, I was loving all the video game references. I kept waiting for Mass Effect, but it never came. =P The alliteration in there were a lot of fun to read as well. You sound like an evil boss battle that would be a lot of fun to challenge.

Omgosh. I can not believe what I'm reading! I love how you incorporated known titles of games and movies into this piece. It had such an impact I'm still stammering from the punch. This was very well crafted and placed in tune. There was no room to question the definition of each line. Few would be able to stun a reader with such ease as this. Thank you for sharing.
