Persistence of MemoryA Poem by RocansEver so often the
Gods wink at the ignorance of humanity And from the reaches
of heaven are ambrosia dropped Gems of art-forms the
barren earth to grace So are the deft hands of artists blessed Impressed I gaze at
what may be termed Opus Dei Frozen life sprung
forth from thought Colours amalgamated
into art splendidly wrought Lost within The Persistence of Memory I awe entrapped in
masterful surrealism Time for me faded
with the melting clocks Jaded amidst amethyst
and amaranthine hues Hadn’t known art was
this affective The sheer chiaroscuro
of Da Vinci’s allegories Combined with the background
music of Mozart’s melodies Munch’s Scream sings
the equivalent of a thousand threnodies I advance inside
hallowed halls revelling in this reconnaissance The paintings like time
machines taking me back to the art renaissance Works of master
crafters plastered upon sanctified canvas Immortalized They are colours of visual mantras Whispering poetry to
those who can discern their stanzas © 2014 RocansReviews
