The Tempest

The Tempest

A Poem by The Golden Pen

I wrote this poem as part of a poetry class. http://allpoetry.com/poem/6644327

"
Night had fallen as the wind did howl
Like a sick banshee that has stumped her toe;
It all started with just a grimace and growl;

That's when the pots and pans like pigs did fly.
The dust resurrected like Lazarus,
From under the carpet into a stormy sky;

Like a mighty tempest hurling things high
Tempers rose at sonic decibels quite obnoxious
All this was over corn beef on rye
She gave him corn beef when he wanted watercress.

The neighbours phoned the Keystone cops
When they heard the obscenities streaming on,
Street by street through London's busy shops.
But the Tempest had died at the break of dawn.
