StarlessA Poem by The CreationI can feel the wind on my skin, Its cold fills my heart with warmth, I’ve stood on this hill for ages it seems, Slowly shedding this layer of sin, Only to find I grow right into another, The moon shines its light on me, It tries to remind me of what I was and can be, But my emotions have gotten the best of me again, “Save me your pity… I don’t deserve it anyways,” My face can no longer sustain these dried up streams, So with my right hand I’ll erase these specked lights from the sky, And with my left hand I’ll clutch the moon, I’ll fill the heavens with clouds, Like smoke from a midnight cigar, Until it becomes as dark as my soul, But something is missing… what could it be? Oh I see so it’s you, I’ll put back this divine body in its place, On its heavenly throne to remind me of you, Let it be the light that shines on my path, In a life that is otherwise starless. © 2013 The Creation |
