Dear ShadowA Poem by The CreationDear apparition created from the absence of light Why is it that you follow me so? Why do you mock me by tagging along so carelessly? A pointless question I would presume You’ve never spoken, not once But you have listened to my thoughts and my woes And it would seem, at least I suppose, Your company is refreshing at times Though I’ve never seen your face Not a single glance I would imagine that it pleases you to be with me Dear faceless reflection of me What is it about you that seem so familiar? Is it the way you take my form, Or is it more? Is it that you are a part of me? Is it that you have incorporated upon yourself a fragment of my soul? If it be so then I hope it makes you whole Let it be that even in the darkness of night, Even if I am unable to see you You’ll never leave my side So it appears I have grown attached to you You have been my guardian angel Though I always see you, And though you have never said a word You have saved my life, In more ways than you could possibly know, And for that, “I THANK YOU.” © 2013 The Creation |
