As a Child WouldA Poem by The CreationI'm in a dark place... a little bit lost... so could you please teach me?
Teach me to be a nuisance, an annoyance,
Which in my way expresses a peculiar brilliance. Teach me to call this shadow my friend, That it will be there till the very end. Teach me to listen to what is felt, And not to what is heard. Teach me how to talk, Without uttering a single word. Teach me to learn, And teach me know, Teach me to reap every seed that I sow. Teach me how to be a friend, And teach me how to share, Teach me how to love and care, For things that aren't necessarily there. Teach me to laugh while I cry, That these memories never die. Teach me of the inevitability of old, That will one day suffocate this heart of gold. Teach me to create a world just for us, A world of the imaginary, Teach me to never surrender, To rebuke this farce called reality, Teach me to remember these things if you could. Teach me to see these things as I should. Teach me to live my life once more... As a child would.
