I Have Never Known Love Before

A short poem I wrote for my lovely boyfriend this Valentine's Day, I hope you enjoy :) xx

I have never known how I should say,
"I love you"
Without sounding gray.

I have never thought that I would see,
You standing there, and feel so free.

I have never thought that I could look,
In someone's eyes, and be so hooked.

I have never wondered much before,
About the world, what it has in store.

I have never looked inside myself,
But looked to others, for their help.

I have never wanted to give love away,
Until I met you, and my heart went astray.

I have never felt this love before,
But now that I know of it, I keep wanting more.

I have never been through this much dismay,
I'm regretful how I almost let love get away.

I have never felt this kind of love,
Until you came, and swept me up.

So now I hope that when I say,
My love to you I won't sound gray,

Because when I say "I love you",
I truly mean it, through and through.
