Too Weird, man.

Too Weird, man.

Weird is good. To an extent.

Some have a weirdness toggle switch; off or on. Some have the newfangled & improved shades of gray added to their switch. And some have the finely tuned, surgically precise and equally comprehensive/thorough dimmer switch that allows for subtle... Strategies?... Hints of leather (as found in select vintage wines)? Hmm... Not quite. Vantage points? Beacons upon which reality can be perceived by the mind's eye? Not really... A method of perception that is more inclined to foster a stronger scene of understanding, through way of vivid observational gathering. Yes. This is not to be applied to what we refer to affectionately as "The Big, and sometimes Bigger Picture", but to one's own outlook.

As Mr. David J Matthews said in his band's song "You Might Dye Trying":

To change the world

Start with one step

However small

The first step is hardest of all...

What have large scale occurrences of what the "Realistic to Politically Correct Dictionary" refers to as, "Different points of view" done in humanities "Unique past"? Witch burnings. Wars. The list was going to be longer, but I decided war is probably the most severe example, so I went ahead and shortened the list to two items. Witch burnings and war.

Now, to clarify what I have written above, I am not suggesting in any way that we should not have intervened in WWII, Hitler's Nazi war machine had to be stopped. His war machine that arose from what I have previously referred to as a "Different point of view”, which was indoctrinated into a massive amount of people.

Anyways, this is not an original or revolutionary thought or anything even close to it, but when you observe this tangible and perplexing reality on a basic level, the population of creatures known as “human” would be happier and healthier without… Witch burnings and wars. There would be much less needless, senseless, tragic, and horrendous deaths, handed from one human to another. This is a fact.

Attempt to view this from a purely logical standpoint. You have/possess, and are in (complete) control of a population/community of living organisms. You love these organisms, a lot. Let’s say they are ants. You have an attachment to these ants as if they were your pets, a member of the family. You would do everything in your power to help them avoid famine, disease… Witch burnings and war. Right?

Anyways, I have wandered a bit from the thought’s main point.

Weird is good. To an extent. Believe what you want, allow your heart and mind to guide you through life. But please, people. Be reasonable. Or at least try.

The River Man
This is not a story, it is a thought I had, and decided to explore and expand upon it with the written(typed) word. Just a thought.

. oh ... what a remarkable piece of writing ... i agree with you ... some years ago, through someone's mind, a religious cult entered my mind ... i got brainwashed ... certain ideas were planted in my mind ... these were ideas about life and learning ... they had devastating effect on me ... in mid-june last year (2011), i realized that what had been fed into my brain since november 2008 was nonsense ... i realized that the person who'd planted ideas in my head was an ardent member of the cult ... i found my way to a blog on the internet that critiques the cult ... and started writing for it ... to my utter surprise, i found many people who'd been through a similar (if not identical) experience ... so, i agree with you ... being unique and different is one thing ... but joining a cult and destroying, demolishing, and, brainwashing others is quite another ...
