Still

Still

A Poem by The River Man

I know

Keep it coming

I hear the end humming

A numbing tune

Something that I can drift to

Not cruise

For attention

I wish to remain anonymous

I lie still, autonomous

I know

But I won’t go

Why?

I do not know

Hopefully this shall help me grow

It seems to disrupt the flow

So all I can do is hope

But too much hope brings despair

Because too much hope lets in false hope

Shortens my rope

Makes me tick

Skips the tock

I break the clock

Only to realize that it was already broken

From the last time

The last time I broke it

i like the idea's conveyed here, in the ways you are trying to grow, i've reviewed an invisible person before..ha ha. and the realism about hope was enjoyable. a clever and entertaining poem. Thanks.
