Occupy

Occupy

A Poem by The River Man

Just when I began to forget

The ruthless rain swept away much needed neglect

And the eyes of the animals that occupy the alley ways

Remember with a slight gleam that it doesn’t matter anyways

So, forgetfulness is the soup of the day

Don’t remember that supernova a long time ago?

Forget the threshold as it draws near

It’s white hot with an immediate end

Giving you plenty of time to pretend

And just as I begin, I’ve already forgot

Now, take to the streets and scream for a butterfly

Watch it die, smile and wave goodbye, sigh, or cry

Either way, countless ripples in time
