Abrupt Things That Interrupt Sleep

Abrupt Things That Interrupt Sleep

A Poem by The River Man

Shaking off the cold I can't remember
In my newly shone crack of time
Which I long ago left behind

I remember now where it was I began
It was with a sense of wonder
In a cold indifferent night

The innocence of exploration
With a brittle shield of anticipation
Held in the grip of objective reverberation

Finding that reflective cascade of shards
Pieces of what you once thought of the world
Falling downward towards the Earth
To explode in magnificence
To wash away sediment
To reveal a mirror for the moon

About
Just a passive observer who drops his thoughts at his heels. Occasionally dipping my quill the communal ink, and making my mark on the common parchment. more..
