Just a regular man...

Just a regular man...

A Poem by The River Man

So I turned off my TV
And I remember what I saw
And it was lying in the street
And it was uglier than me
So I just walked on by
Walk on by

And it said
“oh yeah!”
“alright!”
“don’t fret”
“sit tight!”

And I was stopped dead in my tracks
And then I felt for any pulse
But all I found was death
So I turned around and ran
So I burned the ground and ran

Screaming
“alright!”
“oh yeah!”
“what’s next?!”
“live right!”

Really I say
What hurts us anyway?
I’m just here lying in a bed
Blood stained with red
Humanity been shed

And now I feel clean
Washed free of any dreams
That might have been real bad
Been real bad

So I tell them all
“leave now!
“it’s time!”
“goodbye!”
“sleep tight!”
