The Soldier

The Soldier

A Poem by The_Last_Spartan
"

I wrote this because I see myself as a soldier. I always seen myself as a soldier. This is just how I would describe myself.

"

The soldier takes her final stand,

With the grim reaper floating close at hand,

The enemy charges head on,

A brutal force of muscle and brawn,

But the soldier does not run,

As she quickly fires her gun,

The enemy does not quit,

So the soldier is struck down with a single hit.

The soldier clutches her rifle tightly and shuts her eyes,

Keeping watch despite her demise,

The soldier will forever fight on,

Even after death.

I really like this. It's a little odd in the rhythm, but it somehow fits the story the poem is telling. This reminds me of something I would be reading in my American Literature class, very polished. I especially like that you used commas instead of periods.

Really well done.

I hate these types of things; you know the: "DESCRIBE YOURSELF" thing. I always have trouble really trying to explain what kind of person I am. I guess I never really know, we never really know our tr.. more..
