For Her Starry Eyes

For Her Starry Eyes

A Poem by The_Last_Spartan
"

A poem I wrote for my girlfriend some time ago. I hope she learns to love herself like I loved her.

"

She is the nights sky personified.
With dark eyes that carry the weight
Of the infinity that is space.
Her withered features tell stories
Of victims and victors,
Loss and love.
She's seen things we couldn't fathom.
Her voice is broken and weak,
But she somehow finds the strength to speak.
Words that could create supernovas
And make the Earth shake
With the weight of her truth.
She moves with grace
But the ground quivers beneath her wake
Her demons could scare the bravest men away
But still she finds the courage to stay.
She is the nights sky personified.
Everyone looks toward her in the dark,
But forget about her when the sun comes up.
People speak of her beauty and vast expanse,
But never of her power or intelligence.
So she is belittled to grains of sand
But still she has the boldness to stand
She is not a temple for people to come and go,
She is the sky above,
But she only sees herself as below.
Humanity could never fully grasp her.
But we sure as hell will try.
For she is the nights sky personified.
For she is made of wishes cast upon shooting stars
And comets and meteors
And starlight and black holes
And planets and galaxies
She is a universe in motion
She can never be put down by anyone but herself.
She is the nights sky personified.
But not in her eyes.

About
I hate these types of things; you know the: "DESCRIBE YOURSELF" thing. I always have trouble really trying to explain what kind of person I am. I guess I never really know, we never really know our tr.. more..
