SpringA Poem by Joseph ClohessyNot so much a poem, more a bit of musing. ;)
Temperature rising, the sun blazing in the sky, one of the first nice days this year.
People flocking outside, eager to replace the memories of winter with experiences of spring, sharing moments on terraces, in beer gardens. Anticipating the warm days ahead, longing for the re-emergence of life that comes with the season. Echoes of a past, heathen ritual. A celebration, a welcoming of life. An act of defiance, our way of saying we are still here, we survived another season of cold, of dark. We stand tall and thrive after the worst that winter could throw at us. All in all, it's just another pissing contest. © 2013 Joseph Clohessy |
