Unheard Questions of a Sixteen Year-Old Boy

Unheard Questions of a Sixteen Year-Old Boy

A Poem by L.M. Weeks

Who?
What?
Why?

I am doomed to ask these questions, the questions in my mind.
The questions never to be answered, no words to leave behind.

Who?
What?
Why?

Who do people see when they look into these eyes?
Do they see a kindred spirit, or a soul who tells lies?

Who?
What?
Why?

Who will be mine enemy, who will be my friend?
Who will I share my love with till the very end?

Who?
What?
Why?

Am I a mass of flesh waiting for death to tighten it's grip?
Or am I heaven bound with approval upon God's lips?

Who?
What?
Why?

Why was I placed here, is there meaning to this strife?
What does the future hold, is there meaning to my life?

Who?
What?
Why?
