THE END?

THE END?

A Poem by Edicius

He holds her hand, just as he always has

His eyes gaze deeply, glossy, like glass

He remembers all the times he’s held her before

Their wedding day, carrying her through the door

To him, her beauty withstands even time

He says to her “You will always be mine”

He holds her hand tighter, the fondness so strong

How happy he is to be loved for so long

He looks at her smiling.  The joy he can’t hide

For he know through thick and thin, he’s never left her side

He looks to the man to his right and declared,

“This woman is so precious, so sweet, and so fair”

The other man nods.  Then he rises to stand.

“I’ll always love you”, he tells her, releasing her hand

And says to the man, “Sir, I know that she’s gone.

But I wanted her to know that my love will live on.”
