Do you even care?A Poem by Brandon BretsnyderThis is a poem about my mother.
Do you even care?
Are you even aware? You cause me so much pain The only feeling you should have is “Shame” I haven’t seen you in a year Everyday I would shed a single tear You were my hero But that was long ago Do you even try Or do you just defy I wish I could see you You see how much I’ve grew But that’s not going to happen I’m done trying to bargain You’ve made me feel like a fool All you are is cruel I’m done with you being so asinine Now is my time to shine I will not let you pull me down I refuse to frown You put everything before me Even that evil remedy You’re my mother But you’re starting to turn into a blur It’s almost as if you’re a stranger A stranger who puts my feelings in danger So whenever you think of me, your son Just know that with you, I am done © 2015 Brandon BretsnyderReviews
