Shots of electricity straight to the bones. Teeth sunk deep in life and Never letting go. Heart of steel and Boundless courage.
In these days, The freedom days, We are all eagles, Royalty of the sky. We are all iron stallions, Tearing though the plains, Nostrils flared and eyes full of fire, Making the ground tremble,
Goliath bravery and staring fear Hard in the face, Lips pulled back, Daring.
In these days, The domination days, Nothing is fleeting and We will never die.
When the smoke is too dense For us to see, Still there is no road behind, Only forward. We will come running, Rushing, Charging!
Storming the rocky mountain path Even though the end is beyond our sight.
These days, The days of truth, valor, and spirit, These are the days of heroes. These are our days, And we will sooner see ourselves perish Before the freedom days ever will.
yes .. lots of powerful metaphors .. i think your free verse lends to the power and flow as well .. it fits ... are you writing mostly about Native Americans? it is also full of tragic sadness ... the creative tension i feel is palpable .. the warrior heart held in check for how long??? kind of like tenuto in music ...hearts that will never give up .. "These are our days" .. love that!!

Yes...it reads power, and it makes one think and wish that people were somewhat like that and just living to make a good life for themselves. Not over running other countries and sending young people to war.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
I love to write and I love to review. Send me requests and I'll leave you my thoughts. I would hope that you'd do the same for me.
