Slightly inspired by Cocorosie; mostly inspired by being alive.

Do they ever get stuck

With their gypsy-lifting

With their odes to nature

They've got words

In their ears

That pour out their hearts

But they're still only human

Not fluid like water

But clotted like tumors

Humanly

I separate the world from me

I am just like them

We are all the same

Author's Note

As humans, we not only separate our state of being from animals and plants and such, but we even separate our lives from other humans. It can be difficult to keep in mind that everyone and everything actually has a lot in common.

I love your message, which is expressed with clarity & imagination. I've always preferred people who are a bit quirky, whereas people who conform make me clam up. But I do understand that the large majority of people are attracted to others who mirror their own culture/looks/beliefs, etc.

Thank you for the kind review!!!! As you can probably tell, this poem is talking about how people are all pretty similar. However, I don't mean in a social sense (although that is often true as well). I was speaking more along the lines of "we're all alive at relatively the same in the same universe on the same planet and all our bodies work the same way (for the most part)". It's a very weird vague thought I had haha.

I think we're talking about the same thing, but coming at it from different directions. Yes, we are all the same & that's why writing has such universal appeal . . . it gets to the core of things we all experience HUMANLY!
