Our Rain Song

Our Rain Song

A Poem by TheUnrulyWriter
"

Inspired by Led Zeppelin's The Rain Song.

"

It should be ten times worse

It could be ten times worse

I could be stuck here forever

I would have waited forever

I should destroy myself

I could destroy myself

Or would that ruin us forever?

Or would you wait here forever?

In time the rain will cease

In time we will decease

But our love was everlasting!

When we died, we would be laughing!

But it’s just a little rain

It’s just a little pain

Still, the wind whispers your name

But it’s just a little rain

It’s just a little rain

Storms come and go in vain

But it’s just a little rain

Just a little rain

Sometimes, the rain must fall

It’s just a little rain

The teardrops stain my face

But it’s just a little rain, baby

Just a little rain

Sometimes, the rain must fall

Author's Note

TheUnrulyWriter
When I started this song, it was a love song for my partner. Our song was The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin, so I based it off of that. But before I finished it, we broke up. So I changed the lyrics a bit and finished it to be about how I feel now.

That's one of my favorite Zepp songs. To me, the best part of your poem is what's revealed in your author's note. Tho I'm sorry your situation broke up, it's makes your message more intriguing, to capture your different mindsets as this thing progresses. I think every great song turns a corner in the narrative. You've used just enuf variation in your repetitive lines to add interest.
