Crack Babies

Crack Babies

A Poem by TheUnrulyWriter
"

An ekphrasis poem about Kurt Cobain inspired by his pastel artwork of the same title.

"

An open mind’s a troubled mind

Ask a saint; it’s true

If happiness is innocence

Then drugged up kids are pure

A blondish boy with ocean eyes

And rivers on his skin

A box of lies from Valentine’s

Another heart within

Open it and colors pour

As fog from opium

A rainbow of the warmer shades

A cloak of no-see-ums

Now watch him as he lies to rest

And angels sing a song

A softness who belongs to death

Fraud lovers got him wrong

Gentle child whisper now

The lyrics of your ode

Into the ears of brothers’ babe

So subtle do you goad

Now they bloom on lilypads

In a river steaming hazy

The purest angel of them all

Was a myoma stained crack baby

Some of your lines are really nicely flowing. Something with out drugs....... and your word usage could be an awesome read. Valentine
