No Dream

No Dream

A Poem by TheUnforgivinFallenAngel

The biting wind cuts through my veins
My cries are lost in the tormenting rain
Thunder is rolling deep in my soul
On the edge of a cliff, ready to let go

Lightning cackles and demons scream
An explosion of memories,  this is no dream
The clouds rip open, revealing my sins
As the light in my eyes rapidly dims

Tornadoes are tearing apart my limbs
Hurricanes mixing with my blood to begin
A deadly concoction that hardens my heart
This nightmare ending less quickly than it starts

Very eerie-Has that poetic scare to it that really brings out the dark imagery of it. Again, an exquisite work to be reckoned with! :)

'less quickly than it starts'. I love that line. It's like you tried to avoid the hated line: 'it was gone as suddenly as it started' while still capturing the horror of the living nightmare you described. well done :)
