A Call to The Darkness

A Call to The Darkness

A Poem by W. Hunt
"

A poem describing sleep and death and the dark both cause.

"
A Call to The Darkness
Sleep, hush,
lay your head,
and rest

Safe in your bed,
silent and still,
a death before Death.

each night,
into the abyss,
dark and alone

scared and afraid.

Do not cry out
for no one shall come

Change the darkness
it is all in your head

Do you believe?
Of angels and demons?

In the dark,
Insane and Mad,
Fearful and Curious,
do you wonder?

Do you wander?
Convince yourself the dark isn't there?

Even if you
don't see it

Is it still there?

In the back of your mind?

In the box of thoughts
we're scared to think

When do I die?

How do I die?

And,

What if it is
today?

Any suggestions on how to improve? I'm inexperienced at writing poetry and any input would be incredibly helpful for me. Thank you!
