Alone

Alone

A Poem by Vanessa van Gersie

Alone, I sat
rejected by the world, I glanced
into a future seemingly unfulfilled
My hopes were crashed
My dreams rendered desolate
It was as if I lacked a companion
No! it was because I yearned for one
However,I was pushed aside
Dirty,too filthy for humankind
Through my hurt I laughed,
Through my worry I smiled
Fading the obvious deterioration
with rain drops of yesteryears
If only I wasn't alone
someone would see the damage
my lonely heart entailed
but none could see beyond
my brave facade
dejected I fell into sound sleep
and

I Sat.

A well written poem with heavy tones of melancholia and pessimism. The apparent emotions of dejection flows well and transfers onto us the readers who know what you feel. Great write. Thank you for the share.
