Chemical SlipA Poem by The Soft Parade
There's an image in my mellow mind,
It looks just like Jesus juggled time, There's a woman singing screams of terror, There's a couple getting horny for the dark. Was I too young to see through happy lies? By the bar last night, seemingly The chemical slipped so innocently. You took a sip and forgot your pain. Woke up at the bottom of your shame. And now time is calling, black oceans crawling. What about taking this sinful sign and writing it off. With just a little bit of common sense. I wasn't ever bad enough, the off colored passion rust. It's okay to be ignored, self adored. I like to believe it was love of the hatred. And when the house was left in desperation Who was there to handle the uncontrolled pacification? Was it you who fell down, you who tastes the grass? Well I'm far too bold to care about that now. It's kinda nice to work the streets since the warming of your seats I've been enjoying both my paranoia and my birthday cakes Been taking drugs and making love at far too young an age Personal reflection, the last powered battery of down grades. What a fool I'd be to start relying now. What a fool I'd be to start relying now. I like to believe it was love of the hatred. © 2010 The Soft Parade |
