In The Night

In The Night

A Poem by The Soft Parade

Neon signs illuminate
Quiet discomfort,
Of a more subtle and passive
Ferocity.

The constant passing people hide
Self identity from,
The iron willed giant of a
Ringleader.

We lose track of identity in the
Ebb and flow of,
Irrational and unnatural tides of
Existence.

If this is all you left for me,
Sweet solitude,
I surrender.
