Rain Time

Rain Time

A Poem by Molly

Rain makes everyone a stranger;

a bowed head won’t say hello

due to the imminent danger

of pretend, deceitful sorrow.

The rain gave me a mask

behind which I can hide,

watching the many hunchbacks

quickening their speedy stride.

My bright rainbow umbrella

and the sunshine that it gives

hopefully cheers up some fellah;

a noble and happy motive.

So drip drip water,

and blow blow wind.

Your elemental daughter

will still wear a grin.
