Loving Hatred

My heart beats for one

But belongs to two

One loves me dearly

One hates what I do

I want to love the one

Who loves me for me

But I can’t set the one

Who hates me free

I crave the hatred

That is aimed at my being

I’m long ago gone

Sanity’s essence fleeing

I need your cold heart

I need the pain

I need your sadism

To drive me insane

I close my eyes and

Ice from your mouth drips

I wake up screaming

With your name on my lips

I hate what you do to me

There is nothing to gain

But now I’m in love

And I won’t be the same.

Wow! I think it is amazing! I really liked the fact that you incorporated a rhyming scheme in your poem. It makes it more interesting and enhances the flow. The first line was very nice and urged me to read more. The title was simply exquisite. Beautiful topic to write about. You ended the poem perfectly. Great write!

This poem was very well done. With short sentences it creates vivid images and strong emotions. It's easy to read and has excellent flow.. My only question is the identity of the recipients of your love. And for me, personally, I don't enjoy poems, books, music or movies with dark, negative themes. There are many other good and positive choices that we can make. But, that's my opinion.
