We Still Have the Rest of the NightA Poem by TheShadowsWithinWhen it stops raining, there's still time.
Millions of tiny raindrops
Dancing on my roof Their feet are booming Like strikes by an angry drummer Lightning illuminating the crevices Stuffed with shadows like a feather pillow Thunder roaring throughout the city The sky gray then black then loud The raindrops tire of their dance And some of them stop They grow lighter and thinner Until they're gone The sky is black and quiet The air damp and cool We still have the rest of the night To fill this world with our light © 2016 TheShadowsWithin |
