How About Now?

How About Now?

A Poem by TheShadowsWithin

I've walked through fire
I've drowned in blood
I've been suffocated by my own grief
You place a hand on my back "I know how you feel."
Do you?

I've had spikes of guilt driven through my heart
My throat slit with ambition
My wrists have bled crimson tears
You smile a little "I know how you feel."
Do you?

I've walked miles in a desert of depression
I've climbed to the top only to tumble to the bottom
I've cried away nights and days.
You hide your lies. "I know how you feel."
Do you?

If you were to take one look at the world through my eyes,
You would know,
Nobody ever has, and ever will, know how I feel

How about now?
Do you still understand?
I thought so.
