I DreamA Poem by SeamstressSome simple dreams from a simple girl
Lightening flashes outside the window and I sit here alone,
lonely within my chair and the TV screams at me. I turn off that noisy box and muse about the silence within the thunder wondering if its the same as the silence between the beating of my heart. I talk to a gentleman so kind, thinking he's perfect for someone yet I don't feel the attraction of more than a friend. He talks of cuddling in front of the tv or movies while I dream of cuddling as we read to each other. Are my dreams so wild? Will they ever come true? I try to keep from remembering the past, Yet the things I dream I did with you. Laying upon the couch the dogs cuddle so sweet, never far from each others' side they're complete. Lonely I still sit as the population of raindrops dance upon my windows, slipping down as that one tear slips down my cheek. I talked to another, fun and free was he yet again there is no attraction from me. He asks me my favorite music, show and movie while I dream he asks what we should read next. Are my dreams so wild? Will they ever come true? I try to keep from remembering the past, Yet the things I dream I did with you. I don't want to give up the dreams I've had so long, simply because they remind me of yesterday. I've always dreamed these dreams of my family of two, I just pray I'm strong enough to live them here without you. © 2012 SeamstressAuthor's Note
