A Dream Inside A Dream

A Dream Inside A Dream

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

A Dream Inside A Dream

Strangely familiar,
Yet uncertain,
I’ve been here before,
Or so it seems,

Surreal in setting,
In feeling,
In this real?
Or am I dreaming?

Time appears frozen,
Stuck in the present,
All around me is still,
The past and future non-existent,

Impressionistic from a distance,
Realistic up close,
Rubbing my eyes,
To see more clearly,

Confusion strikes me,
Uncertain of my past,
Suddenly forgetful of life’s details,
The previous night’s dream being fresh,

I awaken,
Yet am still asleep,
The blurred line of reality,
As I dream inside a dream.

I'll be honest (like this is something new for me...), I'm not sure what to write here. It's not a singles ads, so even though I like long walks on the beach, I don't see much point in mentioning that.. more..
