Raising the White Flag On Love

Raising the White Flag On Love

A Poem by Craig Rozniecki

Raising the White Flag On Love

I personalize you gifts,
Listen to everything you have to say,
Send you thoughtful e-mails,
Think about you night and day,

I do everything in my power to see you,
Even if it’s miles out of the way,
Do everything I can to make you feel special,
To place a smile upon your face,

Always striving to make you laugh,
To make you content,
It’s my top priority,
Instilling in you happiness,

But your shell is difficult to crack,
Yet stubbornly I continue to try,
With mixed signals coming my way,
I refuse to give up the fight,

The time consumed to make you believe,
The energy exerted to make you feel comfort,
The effort given to evolve our relationship,
Exhausting myself in the process,

Taking a step forward and two back is a common trend,
Rarely ever meeting me half way,
Leaving me dancing by myself,
Nearly falling due to your charades,

I finally raise the white flag,
On you and your love,
Leaving the impenetrable shell behind,
As I gratefully walk away alone.

Ever so touching and wonderful, so full of emotions.
Very nicely written, most enjoyable read.

About
I'll be honest (like this is something new for me...), I'm not sure what to write here. It's not a singles ads, so even though I like long walks on the beach, I don't see much point in mentioning that.. more..
